Memory Foam Beds
In an effort to relieve astronauts of the incredible g-forces experienced during lift-off, scientists at NASA's Ames Research Center created Visco Elastic Memory Foam in the early 1970's. Density ratings such as 3lb, 4lb, and 5lb are examples of industry standard ratings. Memory foam bed rated as 4lbs. in density means that one square foot of foam weighs 4 pounds.
