Memory Foam Beds
In an effort to relieve astronauts of the incredible g-forces experienced during lift-off, scientists at NASA's Ames Research Center created Visco Elastic Memory Foam in the early 1970's. Today, Visco Elastic Memory Foam is the sleep surface of choice for thousands of sleepers.
Memory Foam Beds are made up of billions of high density, viscoelastic, memory cells that are temperature sensitive, adjusting to the contours of your body by softening in warm areas and remaining firm in cooler areas.
This conforming action provides comfortable and even support throughout your body, allowing longer, deeper, and more restorative sleep.
Visco elastic memory foam is rated in densities with the higher number being the most foam rich. The greater the foam to air ration, the firmer the memory foam will be. Density ratings such as 3lb, 4lb, and 5lb are examples of industry standard ratings. Memory foam bed rated as 4lbs. in density means that one square foot of foam weighs 4 pounds.
You may have heard of Tempur-Pedic®, the first company to market the unique properties of memory foam with their "swedish foam" marketing campaign. Today, there are many companies who produce mattresses using Visco Elastic Memory Foam.
The MemSleep 7000 Series mattresses use ultra high quality, domestic viscoelastic memory foam. The 7200 and 7400 use 5lb. density memory foam. All MemSleep 7000 Series mattresses are component mattresses, meaning the layers are not laminated together like a traditional mattress but held together by friction and the zippered cover. This allows more flexiblity in changing the feel of the bed by changing the order and densities of foam layers.
The SleepPros MemSleep beds do a superior job of relieving pressure that can cause discomfort and interrupt sleep. When compared to nationally branded, market leading premium viscoelastic foam beds, the Sleep Pros MemSleep beds offer you interchangeable support (all models) and comfort layers (7400 model only) where other models cannot be adjusted because the layers are all laminated together.
The core of the MemSleep bed is made up of two support layers, using a premium, high-density foam made through the state-of-the-art VPFsm technology, providing superior support characteristics when compared to inner springs, with the added dimension of enhanced comfort.
Each of the two layers in the SleepPros MemSleep mattresses are rated with different ILD's (firmness rating), one at 35 ILD (more firm), and one at 30 ILD (less firm). This allows the sleeper to customize the feel of the mattress by choosing which layer they would like closer to the sleeping surface, the firm layer or the softer layer.
The SleepPros MemSleep mattresses come standard with a luxurious terry-velour cover. The model 7400 is also available with optional Intense anti-static or Amicor anti-allergenic covers. Check out the PDF files on these amazing cover materials to learn more about them.
