The cover of the 8 inch thick Madison latex mattress is made from 100% biodegradable bamboo fibers quilted to natural, breathable, New Zealand wool. Bamboo is softer than cotton, but amazingly strong - in fact stronger than most synthetic materials. The bamboo cover can absorb up to four times the moisture of cotton, while the natural wool layer wicks moisture away into the air for a cool, dry sleeping experience.
Beneath the cover lies two inches of odor-free Talalay latex, which helps properly align the spine and provides up to 33% more pressure relief than memory foam. Talalay latex, made from a blend of natural latex milk from the Hevea brasiliensis rubber tree and synthetic latex, is hypoallergenic, antimicrobial, antifungal, and odor free. Beneath the Talalay latex layer is 6 inches of Acella-Flex™ foam made with castor oil. The thicker cell walls of the strut reinforcing technology (SRT™) foam creates exceptional resilience, and the Acella-Flex foam's open cell structure allows air to flow. Fresh Foam™ technology with activated carbon keeps your home smelling fresh. This mattress ships compressed and rolled to about 1/3 its normal size. It contains flexible polyurethane foam products that have been tested and certified to meet specific criteria for physical performance, indoor emissions, and environmental stewardship. |
