The Athens Airbed mattress offers the unique properties of Bamboo in the cover material. As a regenerated cellulose fiber, bamboo produces natural and eco-friendly fiber without any chemical additives. Bamboo fiber is a biodegradable textile material and can be 100% biodegraded into the soil by microorganisms and sunlight. The decomposition process doesn't cause any pollution to the environment. Bamboo fibers are breathable and cool. Because the cross-section of the bamboo fiber is filled with various micro-gaps and micro-holes, it has much better moisture absorption and ventilation than many other fibers. Additionally, Bamboo fibers have a high capacity against abrasive action, meaning they are extremely durable. Under the Bamboo cover of the Athens air bed is one inch of Talalay Latex bonded to one inch of Nasa designed visco elastic memory foam. This layer can be easily flipped at any time in order to change the feel of the mattress. To maximize the body molding properties of memory foam, place this layer so the memory foam is on the top. To maximize the conforming support of latex, place this layer so the latex is on the top. Have it your way!
The Athens air mattress uses the Eco-Sleep 4 zone system. So now, in addition to adjusting the firmness level of your side of the mattress, you can also adjust the lumbar region separate from the head and foot regions of your mattress. And the medical grade urethane air chamber is the best combination of comfort and durability available today. Elegant tack and jump stitching creates a soft pillow of comfort for your body. Combined with the revolutionary Bamboo ticking and convertible latex/memory foam layer, the Athens air bed will not disappoint.

All of the Eco-Sleep air beds come with 6 inch, medical grade, horizontally baffled urethane air chambers. Urethane is a strong, stable material not prone to degrade over time like PVC and vulcanized rubber. Urethane is a naturally oderless material with excellent air holding properties, yet because it allows moisture to transpire the interior of the mattress remains dry, soft, and supple. Manufactured using Radio Frequency (RF) technology, Eco-Sleep urethane air chambers are extremely durable. At only 15 mil thick, the Eco-Sleep air chambers can conform to your body's curves like no other material available. This combination of comfort and durability can only be found with pure, medical grade urethane. Unlike vulcanized rubber and PVC, Eco-Sleep urethane is easily recyclable.
The air control system features two ergonomically designed pendants with large, easy to read illuminated displays. The display is only lit when a command is being executed, and the whisper quiet pump only operates when a command is entered. The memory feature allows each sleeper to return their side of the bed to their unique, preferred setting with one push of a button. 65 comfort settings for each zone on each side of the bed make for almost limitless comfort adjustability.

All of the Eco-Sleep air beds include a glued foam rail/tub system to keep the mattress perfectly square, preventing any sags, separations, or any other inconsistencies in the air mattress. Each bed also includes a base foam layer beneath the air chambers.

Before shipping, the unit is assembled and put through extensive quality control tests checking overall construction to ensure trouble free use. Air mattresses usually ship within 1-3 days after order is placed.
