The Medallion offers many interesting and exciting features, including all kinds of premium materials wrapped up in a 4 inch European Box Pillow Top. The really interesting feature is the hidden zipper in the pillowtop that allows the user to change the specialty foam used in the pillow top at any time! This air mattress includes a comfort layer of latex bonded to visco elastic memory foam. Once side is latex, and one side memory foam. YOU can change the feel of your mattress at any time by simply unzipping the top compartment of the mattress and flipping the comfort layer over. Visco (also known as memory foam) is that space age foam you probably have seen advertised on T.V. Latex is a natural rubber product that is extremely comfortable and lasts forever. Both are very popular, but very different. You can choose what you want. More than that, as time goes by, you can unzip your Medallion and insert whatever specialty foam you want into the pillowtop. How is that for options! The Medallion Air Bed Materials: Made from the highest quality Belgian Damask, the cover on the 4 inch thick European Box Pillow Top is tack and jump stitched which keeps the cover at it's fullest and most luxurious profile, with a deep, soft feel. Quilted within the pillow top is two inches of impression resistant Quiltflex™ and 18 ounces of natural wool blend. Quiltflex™ is a revolutionary foam that virtually eliminates the possibility of body impressions. When tested in quilting construction, QuiltFlex™ retained 90 percent of its original loft, even after tests that simulated 10 years of average use. QuiltFlex™ also consistently offers approximately 20 percent greater airflow under compression than fiber and is capable of picking up and dissipating 9 times the moisture of standard fiber. It then dissipates that moisture 4 times faster than fiber. It's amazing stuff - and we have it. The Quiltflex™ is combined with one of nature's most beautiful products - wool. Sheep love it, we love it, you'll love it. Wool is natural, biodegradable, renewable, and recyclable. Because it is a natural fiber grown without extensive use of herbacides and fertilizers, it is durable, healthy, animal-friendly (sheep like to be shaved now and then), hypo-allergenic, and naturally flame retardant. But the most amazing attribute of wool is its ability to regulate and insulate. It provides superior comfort in hot and cold weather. Today there are many textile fibers, but science has not been able to produce another fiber containing all the natural attributes of wool. Wool remains unique; a masterpiece of nature! The Quiltflex and wool are quilted into Belgian Damask cover. As you most likely already know if you have been paying attention, just below the quilted portion of the cover is a zipper that, magically, unzips to allow access to the lower portion of the pillowtop. Here is where the specialty foam lies. Visco elastic memory foam and European style latex are bonded together so you can choose which comfort layer you would rather sleep on (either latex or memory foam) by simply un-zipping the cover and flipping the reversible comfort layer. Both layers provide their own unique benefits. Nasa designed space age memory foam provides conforming properties like no other material, while the comfort, support, and longevity of latex are unrivaled. Now you can have the flexibility of choosing either sleep surface at any time.
