For those who want an extremely comfortable bed at a reasonable price, the 10 inch thick Cerulean may be the answer. Using 5 inch thick, 24 guage, latex/cotton air chambers beneath a two inch, 2.5 density anti-bacterial anatomically zoned comfort pad (firmer in the lumbar region, softer at the head and foot), the Cerulean is the most popular Comfortaire model. The cover is made from 75% rayon and 25% Olefin fabric quilted in a tack and jump style with a 1/4 inc base foam and 2 inches of 1.7 ounce fiber. The foam rails are made from 1.6 density foam and include fabric covers and velcro fasteners. The Cerulean uses the new IFC 2001tm super high performance, super durable, super quiet ball-bearing driven pump. Optional 2 1/2 inch Visco Elastic memory foam available.
All cells within the air chambers are stitched two ways for more even support. All seaming is internal. Using I-beam construction, the Comfortaire air chambers are constructed with vulcanized (heat sealed) rubber. You can not over inflate the chambers; air will flow back out when the chambers fill to their maximum capacity. All pumps include an external fifteen minute burnout fuse which can be easily replaced.
